This map of the Battle of
Frogs Point, Croton River in 1776 during the American Revolutionary War was
published in the 1807 French edition of John Marshall's The Life of George
Washington.
This fine Revolutionary War map shows the Hudson River from Fort Lee, New Jersey
& the northern end of Manhattan Island to Tarrytown & Haverstraw Bay and the
Cotton River. Positions of the American and British armies are indicated on the
New York side of the river at Pelham's Manor and along the road to White Plains
besides the Bronx River and on the Tuckahoe Road. English camps are shown at
Pells point, New Rochelle and Mamaroneck on the Sound. The Albany Post Road
follows the Hudson River northward past Tarrytown. A fine depiction of the
battle sites and encampments.
